The K-9 Connection

Tracy Benway, PT (Physical Therapist),
CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Specialist)

Tracy is a registered human Physical Therapist for 18 yrs and has extended her professional expertise by earning the credentials of a Canine Certified Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) having completed her coursework at University of Tennessee and passing a national examination. Tracy completed a clinical internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital, home of Animal Planets Emergency Vets . Tracy has been practicing canine rehab in clients homes with a mobile service and now will be joining the K9 Connection at their training center at 60 Minnesota Ave. Warwick, RI.

RI-K9 Rehab will offer professional evaluations of each canine which will include assessment of confirmation, range of motion, strength, functional mobility, neurological and proprioceptive testing.

Once a thorough assessment is complete, treatments may include:
customized exercises and stretches for each animal

Massage
Modalities including ultrasound and electrical stimulation
Myofascial release
Trigger point therapy
Gait and functional training
Manual therapies including scar, soft tissue and joint mobilizations
Animals that could benefit from K-9 Rehabilitation and conditioning would include:

Pre and post orthopedic surgery
Arthritis, degenerative changes
Disc disease of cervical, thoracic, or lumbar spine
Muscle strain or spasm
Ligament sprain/tear
