Teri has been involved in training and showing since 1991. In that time, she has titled several dogs in AKC,UKC,CKC,ASCA. She campaigned her Belgian Malinois “Tory” BOWISS,BOVISS, U-CDX,OTCH CH Crossroads Trew Legend, UDX2,OM1,VER obtaining both breed and obedience championships. This team has achieved over 35 HIT’s(High In Trial) including HC (High Combined). They ranked #1 Novice Belgian Malinois, #1 Open Beligian Malinois and #1 Utility Belgian Malinois in the USA! Teri and Tory were invited to the Eukanuba National Obedience Invitational 3 years in a row ranking #1 and #2 Belgian Malinois in the country! Currently, Teri and Gia have been showing in Agility earning the title CH MACH De Vel Graceful Legend MXB MJB CGC. Teri has attended many workshops, seminars and worked with some of the top known trainers in the USA. Teri is also a Certified K9 Massage Therapist.
Jennifer P. Anderson (Jen) is the principal of River Horse Consulting, LLC, a canine training company and is an animal trainer and teacher with 30+ years of experience in canine, equine, avian (raptor) and small animal training and rehabilitation. Jennifer has an UG degree SUNY New Paltz in Physical and Applied Geography with Minors in Chemistry/Botany and a Master’s in Environmental and Community Planning from the URI. A Spring 2013 graduate of the FBI New Haven Division Civilian Academy she has continued study in Forensics and Forensic Anthropology and integrates these disciplines into her application of the chemical and physical properties of scent theory, meterology, topography and human and animal behavior.
Jen is a 2006 certified canine search specialist with the State of Rhode Island Search and Rescue Team task forces and member of the Rhode Island Canine Search and Rescue team (RICSAR), a Canine SAR team. She has certified and deployed with 6 canine partners since 2000 and currently works with her canine partners and family members, Ryder, Finn, and her newest recruit Bellamy – all Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. Jen’s working partners are also CGC and Therapy certified.
Jen is an Urban Rubble and Wilderness Instructor with the International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA); National Search and Rescue Association (NASAR) Tracker I, SARTECH II and National Ski Patrol I and II certified deployable technician.
Her prior work as an Animal control officer in Adirondack Park, New York and Orange County New York, an assistant New York animal shelter manager, New York State Veterinary Technician, Certified Wildlife Rehabilitator and Red Cross Multi course Instructor and Red Cross Human Shelter Manager have all fostered her desire to work with canines and their owners/handlers to improve communication and physical skills and build strong foundational relationships.
In 2015, she was recruited as an Instructor for Veterinary Tactical Group(VTG) Fayetteville, NC and has taught at their seminars for Law enforcement, military and civilian working Canine handlers addressing tactical critical veterinary care.
Her public/private training programs include: AKC CGC, Star Puppy and tracking /trailing, AKC Scent Work, ATT and Farm Dog Judge; scent discrimination and nose work craft, Core Fitness work, obedience in drive, agility, shaped tasks (service oriented animals), isolation and reduction/removal of undesirable behaviors (biting, destruction of property) and search and rescue.
Jen employs a diverse cross section of animal and human educational skillsets crafting unique training programs to focus on each team’s individual chemistry, physical needs of the desired training task and the building blocks of skills needs to reach an objective. Above all, Jen is all about making sure each and every training is refreshing and rewarding for all of the participants. If it’s not fun – it’s not getting done!

Mia started training dogs at 7 years old, by joining a dog 4H club. She and her Australian Shepherd, Wrangler, competed in 4H shows and obtained many obedience and showmanship championship and grand championship wins. Through 4H, Mia discovered her love for training and showing dogs.
In 2017, Mia got her first Ibizan Hound, CKC GCH DC AKC CH Icycold Third Time SC FDC TKN “Charm”, and showed her heavily in AKC breed shows. She has handled her to a hound group win, multiple placements, and high honor awards, including an Award of Merit at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club. Charm ranked to be the #10 Ibizan hound (all breed) and the #3 Owner Handled Ibizan in the US. Mia continues to handle dogs in shows, now focusing on her new up and comer, IcyCold daVinci’s Made for the Spotlight “Idina”.
Besides dog shows, Mia has years in experience in obedience, agility, lure coursing, and trick training. Mia has been training at K9C since 2015 and apprenticed under trainers here for many years. She has a passion for training dogs.
Cris has been with the K9 since 2006 and teaches our Agility , CGC, and Rally Obedience Class. Loved by Rottweilers since 2000, she has volunteered for the NE Rottweiler Rescue as a volunteer coordinator in RI. Her oldest dog – URO2 UCD UCH Deerwood’s Larson Bravo Zulu UD GN RAE NJP NAP NFP OCC OJC TG-E EAC O-WV-E S-TN-E APDT RL2 AOE-L1, L2 HIC TT CGC TDI (aka Lars) has been actively showing in competitive obedience and working on his AKC UDX (Utility Dog Excellent) and OM (Obedience Master) titles and has worked in the past as the Warwick Public Library’s Tail Waggin’ Tudor through TDI. Lars an all breed obedience High in Trial winner and has earned several spots of the American Rottweiler Club’s and the Colonial Rottweiler Club’ Top Ten lists for Obedience, Rally and Agility!

RE AJP OAP XFP TKI PJM PGM PKM APD APS SPR NJC TN-O APDT RL1 AOE- L1 HIC CGC AKC Achiever Dog (aka Ocean), his performance forte is dog agility and he has been competing in AKC and USDAA agility. While Ocean is learning all about competitive obedience, he is also actively competing in three venues of Rally Obedience. Like Lars, Ocean has earned spots on the American Rottweiler Club and Colonial Rottweiler Club’s Top 10 lists for agility and rally and invitations to the AKC Rally National Championships.

Diane started agility back in 1995, with this dog, Aylmere Afterglow, “Kindle” AX, AXJ, CD, Ad, OJC OAC, NGC at the FIRST agility trial at the Shetland Sheepdog National.
First dog she trained in agility was 7- USDAA Titles , participated in NADAC nationals, AKC Nationals and at 10 she taught me everything.

KatieFun Agility for Pets
Katie has been an animal lover her whole life, starting with horses and then adding dogs. She has been at the K9 Connection since 2016 when she started learning Rally Obedience with her rescue dog Riley. Katie and Riley now currently compete in USDAA agility. Riley has currently completed her CGC, RN, RA, TKN, and PD titles and hopes to be adding a few more titles in the upcoming years. In 2018 Katie adopted a second rescue dog Layla. Through this process, Katie has become a volunteer with Operation Pawsibility Project helping to find rescue dogs homes. Layla is currently training in agility at the K9C and has completed her CGC. We will have to wait to see where her path leads her! Katie is excited for the chance to be working with dogs and their owners on building a bond all while having a good time!
DodiTherapy Dog Class
Dodi has been working with her dogs for over 40 years in conformation, obedience, pet therapy, rally and recently agility. While living in Texas, she was a member of a dog training club pursuing obedience titles with her golden retrievers and siberian husky. A group of club members were interested in doing visitations to local nursing homes. Watching the joy the dogs brought from interactions with the residents was very rewarding. Dodi has been doing pet therapy visits ever since. She is approved to do evaluations for AKC CGC, CGCA, CGCU, Star Puppy and Trick Dog titles. Dodi is also approved by the Golden Retriever Club of America to perform Certification of Conformation Assessments.

Lorena has been involved with dogs all her life. She started with breed and obedience with her mother. Since then she has titled dogs in AKC/UKC breed rings as well as Obedience and Rally. She started breeding Springers in 2006, producing dogs with titles in breed, obedience, Rally, Agility and Nosework.
In 2012, her heart dog was born, Josey (GCH Speedway’s American Outlaw CD RAE)was our 1st Bred By CH, GCH finished strictly from the bred by class. He qualified for the Rally Nationals four years in a row.
In 2017 Josey produced our current star, CH Fairmount N Speedway’s I Shot The Sheriff, our pick puppy hasn’t disappointed us, he finished quickly at 17 months old owner handled only shown a handful of times.
She has enjoyed showing and titling many sporting dogs for my close friends. It’s always an adventure with them!
Karen Mancini, the former owner of the K-9 Connection, has been sharing her life with giant schnauzers since 1989. Breeding, training and showing Giants has been her passion. Her Giants have been nationally ranked, multiple BIS and HIT dogs. GCH Kenro’s Keeping Time,Tempo, won the breed at Westminster in 2006 and 2008 and was the #1 Conformation Giant Schauzer. Her son, G CHKenro’s Stealing Time CDX CA OAP OJP, Reo, went on to a Grand Champion and HIT at the National Specialty in 2014. CH Kenro’s Man of the Hour UDX, BN was the #1 Obedience Giant Schnauzer nationally for multiple years. They were invited and competed at the Eukanuba Obedience Invitational in 2006 and 2007. Her GS Rave earned her UD and her CH Border Collie, Switch, was a UD and agility dog, as well as both being the loves of her life. Deciding to downsize, Karen is now competing with her Affenpinscher, Bug-Z, who, so far, has his breed championship and AXP and AXJ and is training for obedience. Karen enjoys training and building relationships with her dogs and working with others to do the same.
Linda has had Shelties in her life for over 50 years, but only began training and showing eight years ago, when Deena came into her life. This team has competed in Obedience, Rally and is now competing in Agility at the Masters Level. Deena has just become a Pet Therapy candidate too! Rorie(above photo), is in Novice Agility and also has 2 Rally Titles. Zephyr is the main Rally member of the family and is working on his 2nd RAE!
When Linda is not doing dog related activities, she sings in a community chorus and likes to travel. She has been a college instructor at several different schools and was also a museum curator for 30 years. Teaching and mentoring are her passions: so she applied to AKC and was accepted as an ACT evaluator.
